An Israeli Women

In every family there’s always one who’s clever and respected… standing
out above all the others. In our family there’s Ilana Goor, wife, mother,
and grandmother.
As a youngster, she wasn’t outstanding as a student. Far from outstanding
and not a student learning lessons in a public school. Her lessons were
private… learning was difficult. Ilana was dyslexic. That was long before
teachers and parents understood the word. Falling behind all the others
in the learning process, Ilana never felt inferior. But definitely different.
Alone in thoughts, but Ilana was never alone. Born beautiful and athletic,
she had plenty of playmates… all boys.
With her mother gone at the age of eight, and her father away from
Israel living in Asia working for the World Health Organization, Ilana,
undisciplined barely graduated High School and without guidance
enrolled in Bezalel Art School yet rarely attended. She lived in Jerusalem
with her brother, Dan, attending Medical School.
In her 20th year, with little focus and an unknown future, along came an
American traveling the world, working his way, which impressed Ilana.
One day each week when he came to Jerusalem to the company’s office ….
