The two monks’ tables found in Greece by Ilana Goor are 300 years old. They are laid with bronze plates, animal and human body parts, a cow skull, a demonic spider, leftover and refuse materials which create a vision of terror corresponding to disaster situations or scenes in a surrealistic dream. Associatively this work has connotations with the famous Christian event of “The Last Supper” of Jesus and his apostles and mainly with Ilana’s recurrent theme of life and death. Wooden chairs integrated with leather seats designed by Ilana Goor surround the table and at the head of the table a chair in the style of an ancient European throne. Its emptiness testifies to the ruination of the people.
