The lighting designer Ingo Maurer is considered a virtuoso and a household name in his field. The lighting fittings that he designs are exhibited in various museums, boutique hotels and first class restaurants worldwide. His work “Kokoro” (1998), is part of a series called “Les MaMo Nouchies”, that he conceived together with Dagmar Mombach. His primary source of inspiration were the works of half-American, half-Japanese designer Isamo Noguchi. “Kokoro”, which means “heart” in Japanese language, combines the delicacy of oriental art with the modernity and functionality of modern creations.
