Ilana Goor's roots series includes bronze sculptures located within recesses in the wall, thereby creating an interesting hybridization between jugs and human busts. They relate to Goor's recurrent motif of the cyclical nature of life and death. The jugs sometimes function as a receptacle for the dead and sometimes as a womb from which life originates. Ilana's choice of a jug as a container typical of the Middle East and the Land of Israel is a statement and is in line with what Goor has often said, namely "this is where I was born and this is where I will die".
