“The Jewish Cross” is a sculpture concealing hidden significances whereby Ilana Goor creates through it an interesting synthesis between the two religions, Judaism and Christianity which were created from one. The cross, recognized from the story of the crucifixion and has received numerous documentations in Christian art, is made by Goor from three crucified figures which seem to be growing in size upwards. The upside down Menora under the crucified figures constitutes a seven-stemmed base. The number seven in Christianity represents the Miracle of the Loaves (two loaves) and the (two) Fishes as well as the seven celestial bodies: the sun, moon and five planets.
