A statue that served as a monarchic symbol during the social ceremonies of the Bamoon tribe. It can clearly be seen that the African artists carved and polished the wood with a variety of tools in order to tailor the material to the character and build of the African body, namely a round, protruding abdomen. The qualities of this wooden statue are reminiscent of iron or bronze art.
